My uncle and grandfather (mother's brother and father) were graciously accepted by my mother. By the time I was six both of my parents had passed away and my grandfather and uncle, an unlikely pair, raised my two sisters and I. Around that same time, I met a woman who later became my God-mother. Her unwavering committment to my life is a constant reminder of just how blessed I am. My grandfather became my best friend and what I now know as my mentor coach. He instilled in me all of the qualities that make me what I am today. My uncle's no nonsense style of child rearing kept me very disciplined and focused in school and whatever else I put my hands to do. My God-mother was also very pertinent to my development as a youth. I grew up exposed to many cultural experiences thanks to her efforts.
My grandfather, God-mother and uncle were instruemental in shaping me into a world citizen who sees beyond circumstances and situations to reach my goals in life. My work as a life coach is largely due to their influence.
