Herman J. Najoli
Author & Speaker

Adjunct Professor of International Business Speaks to Colleges and Universities

As a committed Christian with solid convictions and faith, Herman Najoli, M.A., ATM-B, speaks from his insight of Biblical principles and wisdom.  He uses in-depth study regarding life, leadership and society to empower others with knowledge, skills, wisdom and resources.  These core values serve to enlighten, encourage, equip, embolden and enable others to embody the better life. Herman is an adjunct professor at Indiana Weslyan University where he teaches International Business and Culture. He blogs at www.hermanjnajoli.com.  Read his recent blog post in the April 3rd publication of the CinWeekly newspaper.

Born in Kisumu, Kenya, the sixth child in a family of seven, Herman grew up in the beautiful East African country of Kenya. His primary languages of communication as a child were Luhya, his mother-tongue, and Swahili, the national language of Kenya. He picked up his eloquent command of the English language from the diligence of his father, whom he often tells of how he would urge each of his children to play Scrabble© every night before going to bed. As he began harnessing his vision for life, Herman began reading hundreds of books by motivational speakers and leadership experts. He would also listen to countless motivational audios every time he had the opportunity. This served to cultivate a robust leadership mentality and attitude.

B. Earl Foxx, Jr.
Executive Director, Direct Support Professionals Association of Tennessee (DSPAT)

Shoot for the moon.  If you miss, you'll still be among the stars.

Earl began working in the field of developmental disabilities in 1992 in Beloit Wisconsin, as a night attendant for REM Wisconsin.  After working for 3 years with REM Wisconsin, he began working with Dungarvin WI. In early 1997, Dungarvin was opening up a location in Tennessee, his home state and Earl decided to transfer back with this agency. But, by mid year 1997, Dungarvins Tennessee operation had not began bringing people into their services and Earl was in need of employment.

During the Summer 1997, he began his employment with the state of Tennessee at Arlington Developmental Center where he was employed for 2 years.

In Late 2001, he began working for a provider agency in Columbia Tennessee and at that time the person he supported was looking to move to Nashville with another provider. Earl and his family transferred to another agency with the individual they supported.

While working in middle Tennessee, Earl was blessed to be a part of a new organization better known as DSPAT and he was elected an officer in a couple of months time due to his dedication and desire to want to see that DSP’s would have their very own circle of support. While volunteering for DSPAT, being an active board member for 3 years, and also providing support in a companion model working 100+ hours per week, Earl was elected chair of the DSPAT board.

In 2004, DSPAT won the Moving Mountains award from the NADSP in Philadelphia PA.  While there, Earl met Tennessee Deputy Commissioner, Steve Norris.  This birthed DSPAT’s biggest partnership  with DMRS and is still robust today. In 2005, DSPAT was received a grant from the state of Tennessee to help assist the organization with building a bigger membership base of DSP’s statewide and to also assist with professionalizing the ranks of DSP’s.

Nearly three years later, DSPAT has an unprecedented five year grant with the state and has worked to help provide raises, recognition awards, and DSP proclamation from the Governor giving DSP’s an official holiday in Tennessee and much, much more.

Earl Foxx spreads his inspirational message throughout Tennessee as a keynote or other speaking roles.  He also consults with grassroots organizations who want to begin a local DSP-run association similar to DSPAT.
